Introduction
There are many solutions for active people or athletic
people who want to listen to their iPod but don’t want to put it in their
pockets. Belt clips, pant loop clips and other things are available, but I
prefer armbands. They provide an effective way to carry your iPod as well as
show it off. The SportWrap is no exception. It is a comfortable, stylish
armband that provides a place to put your iPod while you work, play or run.
Getting Started
The first thing I thought when I looked at the box was that
any iPod could use it because it said “For all iPods ”. The only thing I didn’t
think of was that it was for full iPods not the iPod Nano or Shuffle. So,
please don’t get this product if you don’t have the right iPod. They do sell
the SportWarp for the iPod Nano and the iPhone as well. Anyway, the way you get
the iPod in is through a Velcro pocket in the back. Just open it up, stick it
in and close it.
Using the Hardware
Putting the armband on is very easy. Thread the strap
through the plastic spot on the band then put it on your arm. Pull the strap
until it’s the right tightness then attach it to the Velcro. That’s it. Now,
for people with thinner, smaller arms, there may be a problem. - you can only
tighten it to a certain degree and it might not be enough. This happened with
my arm, but for adults it shouldn’t be a major problem. The armband feels
comfortable when you wear it and it doesn’t weigh a lot. Basically, it feels
like you are just carrying an iPod on your arm.
A good thing is that it is easy to use the iPod inside the
armband. You have easy access to the buttons and you can actually use the
scroll wheel through the plastic. Also, there are two holes on the top and
bottom of the iPod holder so you can put the iPod in any position you want. The
holes are for the headphones. The two holes are in different positions, because
the previous iPods have the headphone jack in the middle of the iPod while the
iPod video has it on the right side. Both can be used.
On the downside, there isn’t a lot of protection for the
iPod. If you fall or something hits it, it will take damage. This could be a
bad thing, but it is protected from dirt and small debris. It also gives your
iPod some protection from water and the rain, but please don’t go running in
the rain with this. It won’t protect it completely from water, but if you get caught,
it will help.
Conclusion
Overall, this is a good product. It provides a light
comfortable way to transport your iPod. Anyone who runs, walks or has a need
for this, I encourage them to check out the SportWrap.
