Marching Forward!
By Robert Pritchett
March is a great month for transitioning between sleepy Winter and born-again Spring. Along with getting past the Flu Season, and Macs not catching malware (no they are not viral infestations in spite of what headline-catchers are trying to do) and we even have one anti-malware firm apologizing for spreading Mac-misinformation (Go Sophos!)
Its time to read my letter on Pitty Parties, cross-platforming and Schadenfruede, Rants, Raves and Revelations from Harry {doc} Babad, cross-platform software development by Jonathan Hoyle, a guest article from Adam Knight on Mac Basics on security, the view from the Ivory Tower of Ted Bade, a take on Universal Access in the Mac Attack by Steve Stanger, a look at virtual instrument plugins in the Music and the Mac by Daphne Kalfon, Mac reliability with Gene Steinberg and the MacNight Owl, March Madness of Mac Freeware by Tim Verpoorten, possible speculation of a Mac-based digital book by Dennis Sellers, issues with Google, AOL and Yahoo and Apple compatibility by Leland Scott and an obvious hot button about the Faceless Corporation by Christopher Duncan.
We then jump into a variety of book reviews, a couple of neat hardware reviews, a bunch of shareware reviews by Harry {doc} Babad and finally a few software reviews by Mike Swope, Eddie Hargreaves and myself.
So come join us as we walk through March. And by all means, stop by and smell the crocus, tulips and other hardy flowers that can be found among the advertisers and affiliates that have joined us. When you buy their produce, we get some table scraps to help keep macCompanion online.
The Macs are marching one by one hurrah, hurrah. The Macs are marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah! The Macs are marching one by one, come see what can be done, as Apple comes marching home…
